FRUC 2015 PROGRAM – May 17 2015
10:45am – 11.00 Allie Nance – Kicking off the event with a few songs we have special guest Allie- A sweet voice accompanied by the world’s sweetest instrument.
11.00- 11.30 RCUs (Redland City Ukuleles)
RCU’s meet the second and fourth Thursday nights of the month, 7.00pm to 9.00pm, at Capalaba Sports Club, 113 Ney Road, Capalaba.
11:30-12:00 Dukes Of Uke
…formed in August 2009 to enable anyone with a desire to play the uke a chance to enjoy strumming and singing along in a friendly social atmosphere. Dukes of Ukes perform a wide variety of music from old-time sing-along songs to rock and roll and the latest pop hits.
12- 12.30 Donna & Derek
Husband and wife duo from the North of Brizvegas- Derek & Donna. Derek teaches finger style uke and will be showing off some of his tricks. Donna has a pure soprano voice is a talented uke player as well!
12.30- 1:00 Mama Juju &The Jam Tarts
Mama Juju, Cath “Jazzhands” McCourt and Vicky Velour are three gals who have an absolute hoot playing music together. Sweet harmonies & sassy attitudes!
Clever instrumentation, quirky originals, eclectic covers, jazz/ folk/ blues influences.
1:00- 1:30 Yellow Bird
Swingin’ folksy country pop originals brewed in the back shed of West End and ole timey classics
1:30- 2:00 GRUBs (Greater Redlands Ukulele Band)
This Ukulele Group is part of the University of the Third Age U3A Cleveland
2:00-2:30 Kine Kool
Friends with beautiful voices blend sweet harmonies, the fun of ukulele and a dedication to live music.
2:30- 3:00 Anything Goes
Anything Goes- Having recently played at Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival we are pleased to have this entertaining trio at this year’s FRUC. Any instrument goes with uke – including U’Bass, recorder and melodica. Lots of fun!
3:00- 3:30 BUMs Bottom Line

performing an eclectic mix of music from 1920’s jazz standards through rock ‘n’ roll, pop, and country to world music
3:30- 4:00 Numb Bums
A group of young at heart baby boomer uke tragics, from the Northside branch of BUMS Inc. ranks. There’s not a lot these guys won’t have a go at – so long as it’s musical, lyrical . . . and fun to play.
